Meet OUR FOUNDERS
-
Camila Milanes, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, is dedicated to dismantling barriers that hinder first-generation students from pursuing legal education. Camila and her family of 6 moved from Mexico to Watsonville, California—an immigrant-rich rural community—where she discovered her passion for advocacy and justice.
Motivated by the lack of diversity in the legal and higher education systems, she commenced on a journey to law school. During her studies, Camila realized that change doesn't have to wait until graduation. This realization led her to co-found Lawtinas Exec.

Vanessa Felix Corona is a first-generation Latina law school graduate. Her family comes from Sinaloa and Zacatecas, Mexico. Motivated by her mother’s struggles navigating the U.S. immigration system, Vanessa found her calling in advocacy and justice. She currently works as a law clerk, where she brings her passion for being of service to clients into every aspect of her work.
While in law school, Vanessa served as President of the La Raza Law Student Association and graduated cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA. She was named to the Distinguished Honor Roll and received multiple diversity and merit-based scholarships.
Recognizing the lack of resources for first-generation law students, Vanessa co-founded Lawtinas Exec.—an initiative focused on mentorship, professional development, and community-building for aspiring first-generation Latino lawyers. As a dedicated advocate for equity in the legal field, she continues to uplift and guide others on their path to impact and advocacy.
